Research

The Anthropology of Gender in Asia with a special focus on Vietnam. Long-term anthropological fieldwork conducted in Vietnam, but even in Nepal and India, to study the phenomenology of experiences, politics, and practices in times of postcolonialism, colonialism, war, peace, transnationalism, disasters, and climate change.

Current Research Projects

  • PI of research project on Climate Disasters and Gendered Violences in Pakistan, the Philippines, and Vietnam (with C. Kinnvall and H. Nguyen).
    • Funder: Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet).
  • PI of research project on Precariousness at Work: Women Employees in Nordic Companies Outsourced to China, India, and Vietnam (with C. Kinnvall, L. Eklund, and M. Tonini).
    • Funder: Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). 
  • Coordinator of CRISIS Theme, Pufendorf Institute for Advanced Studies (including 10 colleagues).
