Summary, in English

This paper reflects and analyzes upon a research and pedagocial development project “Gender perspectives on university education and academic disciplines - a pedagogic project for the development of teaching – an intersectional approach (financed by the Swediah Council for Renewal of Higher Education). The project aims to further develop pedagogical models for the inclusion and integration of a “gender perspective” within higher education. One of the more challenging aspects in this project is the priority given to the participation of doctoral students through the entire research project. During the project’s first year, the doctoral student group and the research group (Diana Mulinari and Sara Goodman) met once a month to discuss systematically several texts that are at the core of theoretical debates on gender and feminist pedagogy. The second part of these meetings focused upon our efforts to operationalise this theoretical discussion in the everyday practice of teaching within the University. As part of these efforts we have held courses for university teachers on “Gender perspectives on teaching and learning in the university context”. During the second year of the project the participating doctoral students and university teachers, wrote narratives reflecting upon their teaching and learning which were then developed into cases to be discussed in the courses for university teachers. Central to our model for these courses is a critical discussion of integration of gender research into disciplinary teaching and the use of an intersectional approach.
