Queer reproduction? Intersectional perspectives on kinship, gender and LGBTQ + families in Sweden
The Crip and Queer Seminar series is proud to present this lecture by Ulrika Dahl, Professor of Gender Studies at Uppsala University, who is Visiting Professor at the Department of Gender Studies here in Lund during the fall term 2023.
What is queer about same-sex families? Who is reproducing the queer nation in Sweden? What does gender and sexuality have to do with parenting and parenthood? Drawing on two different research projects with LGBTQ+ family makers in Sweden, in this lecture, visiting professor Ulrika Dahl will give an introduction to queer perspectives on gender, family and kinship, discuss the role of affect and offer glimpses of what identity, intimacy and belonging might mean to differently situated queers who are raising children in an era of rights and recognition.
