esethu’s (they/them) work focuses on trans masculinities, trans, queer and feminist geographies. They completed BA and MA degrees in Sociology at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.

esethu’s dissertation project is a qualitative exploration of how spaces shape the construction and navigation of liveable trans masculine subjectivities. The project aims to contribute to trans, queer and feminist geographical scholarship by focusing on (social) spaces to map how trans masculine people assimilate to, reject, or invest new life into the spaces and places they move within and negotiate liveable trans subject positions.
