OPEN LECTURE: WOMEN IN WAR AND PEACEBUILDING

Nela1

Nela Porobic Isakovic is a former Gender Based Violence Programme Officer for UN Population Fund and has worked extensively with women activists in peace building processes. She is currently working with Syrian and Bosnian activists as project coordinator for WILPS: Women organizing for change in Syria and Bosnia.

On the 15th of September at the Department of Gender Studies Nela held an enthusiastic and well visited seminar addressing the issue of women in war and peace building: victims or agents of change? The lecture also gave deep insights into gendered aspects of peacebuilding processes.
